Just curious. This petition hit the required 100k days ago. It's now at 283,140

The Obama Administration is not stupid, and they will not make snap judgments, ever. If you expect that, you will be disappointed.

(17,997 posts)It's an honest, valid question.
And no, that is not a direct response to the petition.

(45,358 posts)There is no law that determines the time the admin has to respond to online petitions.

(17,997 posts)You made assumptions and expanded on it. You also said he already responded, which is incorrect.
There was no reason for the snark.

(17,997 posts)That reach 100k signatures. They took the petition about the sacred Native American land seriously.
I just have no idea how long it usually takes the administration to respond.

We will do our best to respond to petitions that cross the signature threshold in a timely fashion, however, depending on the topic and the overall volume of petitions from We the People, responses may be delayed.
and, as to who responds:
Petition responses will come from a variety of Administration officials, including staff at the White House. From time to time President Obama may respond directly to petitions, but we expect most of responses to come from other Administration officials.

(17,997 posts)I don't know what is going on with my WH site with my phone. Took me 15 minutes to get a signature on a petition. Parts of the site kept disappearing. I couldn't even get to the FAQ.

Sadly, I predict nothing will happen, except that the 47 made awesome attack ads for us to use against them...
marym625
(17,997 posts)Never did. But I am curious as to what the response will be. I assume it will be more of the same. I expect anything from a, "drop it" to a reiteration of what has already been said. Not much more.

(26,877 posts)...against them. The thing about "charges" is that no one has ever been prosecuted (from what I've read) for Logan Act violations, however, a STRONG case can be made about ALL 47 senators (uncapitalized on purpose) acting against the best wishes of the National Security of the United States of America. THAT is what's gonna sink them all...
On edit: The petition is VERY useful in the sense that it can be footnoted in said attack ads.

(4,458 posts)that the signature deadline (April 8, 2015) must pass, then a petition is reviewed, determinations made under the law...then responses go out.
Yes, I get responses for the ones I've signed.
Be patient, they have Many, Many petitions to review.
So it isn't when the petition passes the required mark, but the 30 day mark.
Thanks! That's good to know!
