Walker leads Bush in new GOP pollBy David McCabe at the Hill

"SNIP................
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker leads former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and a crowded field of possible Republican presidential candidates, according to a new poll.
Walker wins the support of 18 percent of GOP voters in the new Quinnipiac University pPoll, while Bush is supported by16 percent.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee trail further behind, as both get 8 percent. Ben Carson, a conservative activist, wins 7 percent in the poll.
If Bush is taken out of the poll, Walker gets 20 percent and would have a healthy lead over Christie, who gets 10 percent.
.................SNIP"

(131,370 posts)How many times has Wisconsin voted for him???
HereSince1628
(36,063 posts)52-53 and 53 percent, achieved through a combination of efforts to disenfranchise and suppress voters and at least according to election theft researchers, apparent evidence of election theft.

(36,063 posts)The nation gets a head start on knowing him, not because major networks did that opposition research, but because Democrats and media here have made it known
Someday soon people will be thankful we did that. Maybe thankful enough to quit playing the blame the victims in WI.

(45,274 posts)who actually had no chance at the nomination because the Big Money was never gonna support them. Big Money wants someone they can control & predict. Teabagger loonies don't fit the job description. Walker does, and his special strength is that he can suck in the loonies, who think he is one of them, while getting the Big Money--who know that he is a nice, malleable and manageable psychopath--behind him. He's their ideal candidate.
Brains do not matter.
Competence does not matter.
Intelligence does not matter.
The Imperial Residencies of Reagan & Bush2 proved that. In collusion with the complicit media, they can keep the populace hoodwinked indefinitely.
Sleaze matters, and Walker is drenched in it. Beware him.

Dems to Win
(2,161 posts)He's won, by hook or crook, 3 times in Wisconsin.
And, he has a couple of advantages over the presumptive Democratic nominee. No dynasty aspects, so I think he'd be a more formidable opponent than Bush. He'd get all the votes of people who don't want a Bush or Clinton to return to the WH.
He's also 20 years younger than Hillary. Obama beat McCain, Clinton beat Dole. But....Reagan won when he was the oldest person in the race. It's not an unbeatable factor, but it would work in his favor, imho.
Yes, we'd better get our act together. The thought of living in America with Scott Walker as president is a horror movie.

You're in Mental Health care iirc, this guy to me is a misanthrope with ambition. He will screw anyone over to become president. Hell in the past few days he has flip- flopped on agricultural issues ( farmers for walker be like: " he didn't only stab us in the back, he twisted the knife too" ,
and these DNR rules. ( direct quote from an outdoor editor. "Walker for sportsman? That's a fairy tale"
I feel horrible for my cheesehead friends. He is using the state to become president. Riding herd now on folks he mostly contempts
We thought Romney was bad with his 47% revelation. For this creep the number is much higher.
ALEC and the Koch brothers are his only concerns

(99,719 posts)I don't want to be shallow but things like that matter.
Also, Bush had the cowboy personae, albeit he was a drug store one, but those things matter too...
He also was associated with a brand that was popular at the time; the Bush brand.

Walkers appeal is more limited to conservatives and Republicans. And he would be seen by voters as not being very qualified imo. He doesn't have any charisma either.

(10,745 posts)Is with a *terrible* candidate on our side, and *massive* amounts of election fraud(aided by unconstitutional Voter ID laws)......unfortunately, however, we can't really discount the latter still causing damage, even if we do win the White House, not with Karl Rove, Richard Viguerie and the Koch Bros. still influential with the GOP.

(1,417 posts)My GOP loving friends at work are practically frothing at the mouth for Walker.. i think it might be him and they will vote in droves over broken glass for him whereas with McAIN and Romney they werenet enthused... i think we may have a replay of 2000.. the GOP is good at twisting reality even though we will definitely have a somewhat booming economy by election day..... oh geez.. i guess if they get control of all three branches there effectively will not be a Dem Party anymore as long as the state governments stay the same.. this is a nightmare ready to happen IMO.... Shit better be piled up and ready to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
