A Kansas-based staffer for Republican Rep. Tim Huelskamp has been arrested and charged with multiple accounts of child sex crimes.
Local media outlets first reported that Matthew Pennell was charged with 17 counts of child sex crimes, including sexual exploitation of a child.
Pennell has worked for the Kansas Republican since June 2014 as a constituent services representative in the Dodge City district office. Huelskamps office told KWCH-TV that Pennell was placed on leave without pay following the arrest.
Upon learning of his arrest, the Office immediately placed Mr. Pennell on Leave Without Pay until further notice. Because this is an ongoing investigation, we are unable to provide further comment at this time, chief of staff Mark Kelly told KWCH-TV in a statement.

(1,827 posts)This is a serious issue and should not be used as a "gotcha!" for political games.
I resent the lack of seriousness that underlies the OP.

(1,827 posts)Which makes it a damn sight more recent than Garfield's mistress. But then, you knew that.

(1,827 posts)I got the feeling the OP was "gotcha" post. I'm all for going after the GOP--especially Scott Walker, whom I consider to be the biggest danger in a long time--but I am not for using abused children to do it.

(17,088 posts)They didn't even put it in the headline. The association is a fact, and no doubt irrelevant, but still newsworthy. You made it about party with your false equivalency bullshit.

(1,827 posts)Your "moral righteousness" is in contradiction to the facts here.

Your excuses are lame & motives dubious.
