What's Wrong With This Picture? If The Dems Pulled A Stunt Like This On BushCo......

we would have never heard the end of it. I can't believe that while serious negotiations are goiing on with the Iranians by this administration the Repugs and Bibi are trying to undermine it.

I can't believe that there isn't more outrage by the rank and file American and Israeli People.

I think what is being done by Bibi and Boehner is putting both countries at risk for the future. This to me is borderline treasonous.

I don't get it. Seems to me that the Iranians are at least taking the process seriously and it looks like Bibi is goading them to walk from the negotiating table with this speech. If these talks fail - the blame will fall on both Bibi and Boehner and the Repugs.

Not only will that put Israel in the crosshairs but it will make this world a more dangerous place as well. Thanks Bibi!!!! Thanks Boehner!!! Thanks Repugs!!!!

Apples and oranges. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/04/world/middleeast/04cnd-pelosi.html?_r=0

Ms. Pelosi and many other Democrats, as well as some Republicans, have spoken often in recent months about the value of increasing dialogue with Syria as a way to improve stability in the region, but the Bush administration has resisted the idea, citing its view that the country is a state sponsor of terrorism. It accuses the Syrian government of providing militants with safe passage into Iraq and of interfering in Lebanon’s politics after its army was forced to leave there in 2005. Damascus denies the accusations.

At the White House on Tuesday, President Bush told reporters that he saw little point in talking to Syria now. “Sending delegations hasn’t worked,” he said. “It’s just simply been counterproductive.”

Even so, three Republican congressmen — Robert Aderholt of Alabama, Joe Pitts of Pennsylvania and Frank Wolf of Virginia — visited Syria separately and met with Mr. Assad on Sunday. And a senior American diplomat, Assistant Secretary of State Ellen Sauerbrey, held talks in Damascus last month with Syrian officials about an influx of Iraqi refugees. Mr. Bush did not mention those visits in his remarks yesterday.

Ms. Pelosi is traveling with a high-level group of lawmakers, included Representatives Henry A. Waxman and Tom Lantos of California, Louise M. Slaughter of New York, Nick J. Rahall II of West Virginia and Keith Ellison of Minnesota, all Democrats, as well as David L. Hobson, Republican of Ohio.

That should give you some insight into how the Republicans get away with bullshit like this.

Too many Dems (more than are not) cower in front of Republicans when they pull bullshit like this.

The Republicans may have initiated the stunt but by showing up for the speech rather than boycotting it like they should, the Dems are allowing this type of stunt to actually work.

My point was that all Dems should have been a no-show at this, but they weren't Far too many Democrats attended the speech. It was an offensive and unprecedented end run around negotiations by our Democratic president. Democratic reps and Senators should have not shown up en masse. Instead many of them were worried about being painted as anti-Israel or whatever else the Republicans would throw at them, so they caved and showed up to the speech.

If this were a Democratic majority leader doing this to a Republican president then the Republicans would have very likely been unified in their protest against it and not shown up at all.

If Bibi speaks for American Jews - that's debatable and immaterial. He does speak for the American Jews who vote, who organize, and participate.

If any of these Dems have any Jewish constituents, you can be sure that the ones calling are in support of his speech and woe be it to any rep who decides to shun him and hope for future support among Jews who vote. Unfortunately, in many places, support for Israel (rain or shine) is like the Second Amendment - there are a lot of single issue voters and they define the agenda.

lost is because they want to hang on to the coat tails of the repugs hoping they will get reelected, how well did this
work last election. This is disgusting. There are very few true Democrats left.

Many on this site are amplifying the hate of Hillary. The repugs use their many mouth pieces in the media and many
Democrats cower. When the repugs get their president watch all the social programs go to wall street and watch
the rich get richer. We are going to become a 3rd world nation.
