Synagogue, garages spray-painted with racial slurs in West Rogers Park

A badly drawn Star of David and the words “F – - – U!” were among the scribblings residents awoke to Sunday morning on synagogues, garages and other buildings in a largely Jewish area of West Rogers Park.

“It’s outrageous, It’s very sad,” said one resident, as she saw the words Monday sprayed in black paint on the back side of the tiny synagogue in the 2900 block of West Touhy she’s attended for two-plus decades.

In all, a dozen or more buildings appeared to have been hit with the racial slurs and other profanity.

About 6:40 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the store-front synagogue. Officers later got word of similar incidents in the 2800 block of West Estes and the 5700 and 5800 blocks of North Talman. Police labeled the incidents as criminal damage to property. There had been no arrests as of Monday evening.

(DU'er) is a Jew, despite the name. They're the people doing everything they can to ban or cancel Christmas, while telling us, with a straight face, that there's no War On Christmas. Lying comes to them as naturally as breathing.

I just found out my neighbor did not put his Christmas lights up this year because he was afraid of vandalism. I had not noticed, but last year his lights were vandalized and "faggot" was scrawled on his door. He did not say anything to me (his room mate told me), and I simply assumed he did not have time to put them up. So fucking disheartening.

I have the advantage of being a black woman - well mixed. I've shared some of my experiences with BTA in pm's. People say things to me not realizing I've celebrated many seders at my mom's paternal grandparents house as a kid. I'm talking people of all walks of life, races, various Christian sects/ denominations.

There is a lot of ugly out there.

And in a strange twist - its two Muslim couples we are friends with who would never say these things - let alone think them. One couple from Egypt. Another who are both first generation Americans. The Egyptian couple in particular - as they are not devout - understand tolerance and kindness.

But a few born again types I know? Not friends with but know? Evil.

And then there's the man we introduced to my girlfriend J who was alll about her - until he found out - I quote "She's a Jewess?". Yeah - he's not allowed at our home anymore and my husband got him kicked out of a men's social club he's belonged to for many years.
