ALERTER'S COMMENTS

Please do use that disgusting racist and xenophobic epithet here at DU.

Babies are babies, not anchors.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Sun Dec 7, 2014, 08:07 AM, and the Jury voted 3-4 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: A very rude statement, but free speech should be protected on DU
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Don't really like this post or term, or the original post. But, I seldom vote to hide. People are responding appropriately to the unnecessary OP and waste of screen space.
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Sounds racist. Just because we don't like Bobby Jindal does not give us carte blanche to make racist statements about him. This is a test of the conscience of DU. I hope I'm not disappointed.
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: This idiot is posting horrifically bigoted and right wing garbage throughout this thread ... links to 'Gomer" as source of a coherent explanation ...? WTF

I am hoping MIRT or the Admins take note and address this bigoted imbecile
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Jeez. "Anchor baby"? Really? Dude....(smh)
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE

Some think everything should be hidden. Some vote based on whether they agree with the politics of the post or not, or whether they like the poster or not. Sometimes, it seems pretty random to me. I once got a sarcastic post hidden because I didn't use the sarcasm emote. (The hidden post accused kindergarteners of not creating enough jobs--that's how obviously sarcastic it was.)

I once alerted on "Republicunt," not because I love Republicans, but because I am sick of words like pussy and cunt being used to describe people and behaviors we don't like or are angry with. It's sexist.

I had a similar experience with "fag," but I may have been a juror on that one, rather than the alerter--don't recall.

Anyway, not only was there no hide, but, in both instances, some jurors chastised the alerter. I wonder what would have happened if the words had been applied to Democrats?

I jokingly posted a picture of a house burning down and the jury voted to hide because I incited violence.

I wanted to tell the stupid fucks that I'm not a mob boss and not related, in any way, to the "Sopranos" and that sometimes in this world, people use exaggeration to be funny.

A couple of poor souls though, actually concluded I was a right winger who was sincerely condemning kindergarteners for not creating enough jobs. I couldn't be angry with them, but I do have to wonder how they make it through life.

Bobby Jindal, the Exorcist

A day after Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal’s widely ripped Howdy Doody-meets-Mister Rogers response to President Obama’s address, Max Blumenthal piled it on with an interesting article on The Daily Beast reiterating some things not widely known about the “Bayou’s boy wonder.”

One of the most interesting facts in the piece, titled “Bobby Jindal’s Secret Past,” was that Jindal said he witnessed, and then haltingly participated in, the exorcism of his very close friend (a woman named Susan) when he was in college.

(It should be noted that other bloggers have been making hay of this fact for a while.)
