was Monty Python. Or the short run of Laugh In.

Comedy can be subversive as those three shows demonstrate.

George Carlin was the only comedian with enough name recognition to entice my 20-year-old self into giving up an evening of debauchery.

Wish I had watched SNL instead.
Husband #2 (for the past 32 years) is a vast improvement.

Incidentally, the Clintons also got married on Oct. 11, 1975.

My wedding night included SNL!

Curiously enough another show aired on ABC called Saturday Night Live with Howard Cosell (featuring Bill Murray as a regular) earlier in the evening. The NBC show was originally called just Saturday Night, and re-named after Cosell's show was cancelled.
