The Inanity of Rand Paul's quote on Ferguson, MO..

Rand Paul on Ferguson: "There is a very good chance that this had nothing to do with race."

"Let's say you're African-American and you live there, let's say none of this has to do with race. It might not, but the belief — if you're African-American and you live in Ferguson, the belief is, you see people in prison and they're mostly black and brown, that somehow it is racial, even if the thoughts that were going on at that time had nothing to do with race.

"So it's a very good chance that had(sic) this had nothing to do with race, but because of all of the arrest and the way people were arrested, that everybody perceives it as, 'My goodness, the police are out to get us,' you know? And so that's why you have to change the whole war on drugs. It's not just this one instance."

More..

Our bad.. we only "perceive it" as such.. Only Rand Paul in his infinite wisdom knows what's going on here... and there's a "very good chance that this had nothing to do with race"

I like this from the comment section at the link..

"So some white guy from Kentucky is telling the black people in Ferguson that it’s all in their head. Rand Paul doesn’t know a dam thing about what it’s like to be black." anniebella

8. Really? Really Rand?

"When I see things like that, and I see, like, a warzone, and I see bazookas and tanks and all of this stuff in American city, it offends me, because many of these people, some are rioting, and they need to be arrested," he said. "If you're committing a crime, arrest people. But if you're standing up, and you wanna voice dissent, you know, it is really what America is about, is being able to dissent."

Deaf Dumb Blind and full of White Privilege. Gawd that man is offensive. Hey, Randy, do you find the murder by cop of an unarmed black child offensive? Do you?

"If you're committing a crime, arrest people."

For the love of Gawd, where have you been, you dumb F**K! They don't arrest black people they shoot them to death. It's called murder, get a clue.

Thanks for the Op Cha. Well done.

13. Three strikes...we are going for 4 now...

The Huffington Post | By Braden Goyette
Email
Posted: 07/09/2013 11:05 pm EDT Updated: 07/10/2013 7:04 pm EDT

Chris Hayes: Rand Paul Has 3 Racist Strikes Now

This isn't an isolated incident, Hayes argued, listing the three "white supremacist strikes" Paul has racked up so far.

"Strike one was in 2009 when Rand Paul's Senate campaign spokesperson was forced to resign over a horribly racist comment and historical image of a lynching -- I'm not making that up -- posted by a friend of his on his MySpace wall on Martin Luther King weekend, then allowed to remain for almost two years," Hayes said.

Strike two, Hayes added, was when Paul expressed reservations about the Civil Rights Act in an interview on the Rachel Maddow Show. (Paul later said in a statement that he supports the Civil Rights Act "because I overwhelmingly agree with the intent of the legislation, which was to stop discrimination in the public sphere and halt the abhorrent practice of segregation and Jim Crow laws."

"And now this. Southern Avenger on the Senator's staff," Hayes said. "Well, I'm sorry, Rand Paul. That's three racist strikes. You're out."

And now Ferguson...

The man is a racist, Cha.

15. Damn, Rand Paul is a bona fide racist like his dad, Ron.. and he lies about it.. which is par for

for his course to use another sport's analogy.

Like arcane says in this thread.. "Rand Paul talks out of both side of his ass."

Rand Paul falsely claims he supports Civil and Voting Rights Acts

But Paul’s previous statements on these topics cast serious doubts on his rhetoric this morning…

Rand Paul on the Voting Rights Act: “It was a time in our country when the color of your skin did need to factor into voting, but we’ve really gotten beyond that now. We have an African-American president.” [Newsmax, 6/25/13] Stupid.

Rand Paul on the Civil Rights Act: “I think it’s a bad business decision to exclude anybody from your restaurant, but, at the same time, I do believe in private ownership.” [Editorial Board, Louisville Courier-Journal, April 2010]

http://factivists.democrats.org/rand-paul-falsely-claims-he-supports-civil-and-voting-rights-acts/

What a freaking surprise! Not.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=5439042

Thank you for the article, she.. very important to have this information on Rand Paul.. cause like it says in your link..

"Though Paul has drawn favor from liberals for his defense of civil liberties and opposition to America's wars, the MSNBC host argued on Tuesday night's installment of "All In With Chris Hayes" that it's impossible to take him seriously after the revelation that one of his aides used to be a neo-Confederate activist."

history of racial profiling that Rachel Maddow went into depth about on her show soon after the killing on August 9th. There's been numerous racial slurs from the police exposed since the Protests began.

Black People Unimpressed With White People

We still see...

These guys, who aren’t going to vote for this guy’s son

Because blacks weren't oppressed before the 'War On Drugs' and that's the only issue they care about, right?

Nothing like the Voting Rights Act, raising the minimum wage, protecting worker rights and all the rest that Rand voted against.

Because it's all about the pot, don't you know?

Yup, the Libertarians got a real winner with that one!

NOT...

54. Not a problem for him, Cha.

He's had a lot of practice talk out of both sides of his mouth. For instance, his doubletalk--not to mention outright lies--about his opinion of the Civil Rights Act.

Bob Cull at Americans Against the Tea Party recently wrote a piece about a Rachel Maddow segment in which she replayed a previous interview in which, after much effort on her part to extract the truth, he admitted believing that the Act had over-reached by forbidding open-to-the-public businesses to reject African-American customers.

In the fashion for which he has become famous, Paul danced around the issue saying that he supported nine tenths of the law...

But finally admitted to Maddow that he doesn't support that part.

Cull says Maddow then played a clip from Paul's recent interview with NBC’s Casey Hunt...
...in which he looked her straight in the eye and lied.

“You noted in your speech you support the Civil Rights Act,” Hunt said. “But specifically, do you think that private businesses should be allowed to discriminate based on race?”

Predictably, Paul replied with a terse, “No.”

“So you’ve changed from when you said before you were concerned about that title?” She asked.

“I never said before,” Paul lied.

http://aattp.org/rachel-maddow-exposes-tea-party-racist-rand-pauls-civil-rights-act-lies-video/

The man is a serial liar.

61. No kidding.

As a state, we seem to define "voting against our interests."

It's pretty tragic.

anywhere near our White House. He'll keep his racist fan base well intact.

72. How about focusing on the other guy

You're a white police officer and you're patrolling in a residential neighborhood with apartment buildings and you see two teenage black guys walking in the street. And in the all white community where you actually live there are probably white kids skateboarding in the middle of the street of a residential neighborhood. Which neighborhood do you decide to get tough in and utter expletives to tell those in the street to get the fuck away?

81. "Clueless"? or disingenuous to slither a comment on Ferguson without

losing his racist base?

It's an insult to thinking people's intelligence in Ferguson, MO and those who care about them, Peacetrain.

83. Cha.. how anyone could even try to point to something positive about that little insect

is beyond me. I do not understand for the life of me.. how some attack the Democrats our President, our Democratic leadership on every thing, and try to point out the positives of this little character.. beyond my understanding for sure
