Gingrich compared the former secretary of state, senator, and first lady to the reality television star who initially became famous for a sex tape on CNNs Crossfire, where he suggested that Hillarys political skills paled in comparison to her husbands.
You have to understand the problem Bill has, Gingrich said according to Politico. Bill is to politics what Fred Astaire is to dancing, he is just automatically amazing and he wants to have Ginger Rogers out there dancing. Instead [with Hillary Clinton] its a little bit like watching Kim Kardashian get kicked off the stage by Prince because she couldnt dance.
The remarkably pop-culture savvy former Speaker of the House who lead the charge to impeach Clinton when he was president was referring to a 2011 concert at NYCs Madison Square Garden where the iconic Purple Rain singer brought Kardashian on stage, but eventually told her to leave because she wouldnt dance.
I think theres a big problem, because I dont think, as a candidate, that [she] dances very well, Gingrich added.

Also, remember that all supreme court nominees are chosen by the president.

(13,992 posts)I mean, if you're Newt Gingrich, you want to talk up the guy who so thoroughly kicked your ass and cost you the job of Speaker of the House.
But here's the thing, Newt.
If Bill Clinton is Fred Astaire, then Hillary is Ginger Rogers, and as the old saying goes, Ginger did every thing that Fred did, only Ginger could do it backwards and in high heels.

(30,253 posts)BTW, I have always loved that quote. It's attributed to Bob Thaves, the cartoonist.
In a 1982 Frank and Ernest comic strip Thaves wrote about Fred Astaire: "Sure he was great, but don't forget that Ginger Rogers did everything he did, backwards and in high heels."

(13,260 posts)It's the 90s redux; for those who didn't get to experience it the first time through...you are in for a particularly disgusting experience. I strongly suggest watching "The Hunting of the President: The Ten Year Campaign to Destroy Bill and Hillary Clinton" so you'll have some background and you can help keep score and track the gasbag powered wind spin machine.
Where are mellon scaife, schlafly, robertson, ailes, farrah, drudge, heritage foundation, aei, the constantly rebranded and Orwellian named "moral majority," and the other useful idiots and funders and founders of the vast right-wing conspiracy?
Oh, wait, they're out there bloviating and spewing and given face time by our ever-reliable and factual liberal media.
So...is it head bands or pant suits this week?
Lesbian love affairs or the Clinton body count?
Whitewater, Troopergate, Mena, Monica, or Billary?
Anyone know if ken starr has hit the radar again?
It's going to be a long and ugly campaign season.
