Apparently, Daryll Issa and the Republicans didn't think it was a 'scandal' when the Bush Administration 'lost' 22 million emails between 2003 and 2005, relating to A) lying the country into the Iraq war, and B) outing CIA agent Valerie Plame in order to punish her husband for exposing the lie about the yellowcake uranium. "Just blame it on a computer glitch, and forgedabbadit" says Issa.

What a difference a few years makes. Here Issa defends Karl Rove's use of private email accounts to do government work while in the White House, without Congress getting access to it. *Eyeroll*

(9,958 posts)The government now can find and search 22 million more e-mails than it could in late 2005 and the settlement means that the Obama administration will restore 94 calendar days of e-mail from backup tape, said Kristen Lejnieks, an attorney representing the National Security Archive.
Stanzel, the former White House spokesman, said that the 94 days of e-mails to be recovered from back-up tapes consist of 61 calendar days already planned in the Bush era and an additional 33 days of recovery that the Obama White House have agreed to recover as part of the settlement of the court case.

(5,082 posts)We need pit bulls on these panels to point out these hypocritical crimes on the Right. But instead we have weak sellouts like Hoyer, Pelosi, Clinton, Reid etc who are afraid or too complicit to take the fight to them. Grayson we need you!!!
