for sending me the flier about how much Jason Carter supports expanding Obamacare. I told them I'll be very pleased to vote for him now, knowing how much he supports the health care issues. I explained that because of the ACA, my child still has insurance for his medical problems.
The guy sounded really put out that I called.

(112,619 posts)I was about to crawl into bed before I saw this one.
The last time I had so much fun was the night Ted Cruz called at Dad's house on the landline to join in a teleconference before he was elected senator. I pressed "1" because I had a question to ask, but I didn't advance far enough in the queue to ask it.

(4,079 posts)He likes to tell people that he is a member in good standing with the NRA (gun control is the one issue he is most passionate about) because it forces them to spend money sending mail to someone who despises them.
He will gladly sign up for mail from the GOP as long as he doesn't spend money on it, and they do.
He's also a Texan .

(12,164 posts)Now we have another sane voice added to DU. Your brother somehow has his finger on the pulse of nearly everything of importance that goes on in Texas.
And what you did is awesome, If the guy sounded put out then maybe he is having a rethink-well one can hope.

(2,284 posts)donate to the Democratic Governors Association. We need more Democratic governors. I learned how really powerful governors are after we got stuck with the stinker Scott Walker. He has torn our state apart.

(113,774 posts)teeny widdle heads of the pukes and fundies. a while back, I was in a furniture store with a friend, who was showing me some things she was considering for purchase. I wasn't too impressed, but said little. then I wandered up to the counter, and saw the "christian yellow pages". I said, "oh, thank you for putting all those names in such a handy book". the cashier smiled at me until I continued, "thank you for that handy list of which shops to avoid." turned to my friend and said, "you probably want to reconsider purchasing anything here" and walked out. the look on the cashier's face amused me.
