It speaks volumes when Cantor is considered too liberal for the GOP

Yep, that's just how far to the right the GOP is shifting, where someone like Cantor is viewed as too liberal for their likes.

While it's interesting to see the racist elements of the GOP wearing their stripes with pride, it can also be a scary thing. Scary in that, if enough of these teabaggers make their way into Congress, they could really slow things down or even bring government to a screeching halt (which is pretty much their goal anyway)

But if HC gets the Democratic nomination and all the "progressives" stay home, like they say in thread after thread, we might get saddled with one of these scary fucks as president.

We underestimate the teabaggers at our own peril. I remember a few years ago, many on this board were completely dismissive of the teabaggers.

The same could easily be said of Democrats and our party's rightward lurch. A lot of things that used to be considered perfectly reasonable Democratic positions to hold (gun control, anti-death penalty, staunchly pro-union, staunchly pro-public education/teachers, pro-keeping the Military In check, pro-privacy, etc.) are now deemed far too liberal for any "serious" candidate to be treated seriously by the very serious people who decide such things.

Their rightward shift means our party heads in the same direction.

that were once considered fringe have now become part of the GOP mainstream, and EC's loss last night added more fuel to that fire. I think that as their party continues moving rightward in a hurry, it unfortunately drags the whole debate to the right, especially if they continue having power in Congress. That's why I never really got too much on board with the idea about the GOP moving away from the political center. Yes, it makes it easier for Democrats to win presidential elections, but Republicans will still probably be able to win plenty of House and Senate seats in the foreseeable future.

and the crap spitting out of the mouth holes would be the same. He is just as much of a teabagger as any one of the idiots, but the media has recently painted him as something different. He was tight with the GOP House when they shut down the government and threatened default. Same goes for Boehner who led the crazies with Cruz.

Third Way and Republicans who suddenly change affiliations to the Democratic ticket are going to be a troublesome trend.
