Starting with Senator Dean Heller (R-Nevada). We have to start taking the RW hate machine seriously.

I just wish I could live long enough to sit back and watch the inevitable consequences play out on live tv....
I am like George Carlin in that way, disasters excite me, especially when they include some karma.

(32,001 posts)Into Dominionist Political Ideology - I agree with you, randys1, Erichblood, etc. etc.
However, in their world - the world of the Religious Right -
All they have to do (in their minds) is claim they have been born again, say they are sorry, say they are ashamed - and weak minded people who ALSO believe in a dominionist world view in 'safe districts' and states will hand them their votes, money, and prayers.
That's the reality of it.
And truthfully - Cliven Bundy himself is a part of that Dominionist political spectrum - so the folks who will vote for the Right's candidates actually agree with his stance.
That said - it can and should be used by every left candidate to raise money and rally our folks to the polls.

What I find ironic about him is that twenty years ago he would have been considered a far right extremist, and now he's a "moderate" Republican.

(17,422 posts)The only way to remove a member of Congress is expulsion, and this requires a 2/3 vote.
Personally I am happy to rely on voters to make these decisions.

(13,907 posts)I think this civil unrest will ultimately be used by political candidates who are going to "restore the rule of law". The more confused and fearful Americans become the more they will be willing to accept a tough President who will deal with the perceived anarchy. Ironically, the actions of the right will only hasten the inevitable police state they think is already here. Unfortunately for us, the tough leaders may come from their ranks.
