and if Republicans lose East Texas, they WILL lose the state.
There are some East Texas television stations that put the "Reparative Therapy" platform as news and overwhelmingly, with the exception of a couple of idiots, everyone was simply appalled. After it was clear that disgust was the attitude, the stories were removed from the feed from a couple of the stations.
I will keep searching and see if they crop up again and post the comments for all to see.

Here are some of the responses:
" I was raised in a fundamentalist Christian household. During puberty, I knew something was wrong. And I prayed, I was sick over it. The son of a Baptist preacher?! I wanted cancer...I prayed for cancer instead. It led to a lifetime of risky behavior. I hated me and wanted to die. Now, I've let that go and allowed myself to love myself. Two roads diverge in a yellow wood, I took the one least travelled and that has made all the difference. This is politically motivated by the evangelical reaction to a federal judge. There is a reason why it's forbidden practice by the A.p.a, the a.m.a. and even neo Freudian therapists. It does irreparable harm."
"No, I do not. If they're trying to push lifetime Republicans (me) away, this is a great start. Gay, straight, religious, not religious, purple, green or other does not belong in politics."
" Everyone has a right to live their life how they wish as long as it's approved by republicans."
" Do you think counseling and prayer can change my Labrador into a Polar Bear? That makes about as much sense as this does."
""With Texas Republicans refusing to remove their heads from the sand, this truly is a surprising turn of events," said no one, ever on this latest revelation. "I still hold out hope that someday they will come to join the 20th century," they added."

(43,049 posts)I have run into that it's all well and good to talk about homosexuals in the abstract but when you have one in your family, or even neighborhood, work, etc (as you most certainly will) it's now down close and personal. Actually knowing the person tends to override all that nonsense you've been hearing and you suddenly become very protective of that gay person you actually know.
The human mind is a very confusing thing.

(33,958 posts)I am of the opinion that if a politician can turn the East blue....the state is toast to the republicans.
People out that way hold hard and fast to their hate.
