(45,984 posts)Frankly, I think I figured that out when I read her rambling, incoherent steer manure about the September 11 attacks that was so bad that it got her bounced from National Review Online. I seems that somebody, at least thirteen years ago, still had respect for Mr. Buckley at his magazine.

(51,772 posts)I grew to be repulsed by her when she appeared on the old Bill Maher show, Polically Correct. She was on so often it pisssed me off. I think he had a thing for her.

(45,984 posts)It was an opinion piece. It only takes a couple of minutes to read, but it is so poorly written that one may wonder what he just read and what can be understood, I think, revealed something really ugly about the person who wrote it.
It started out OK, like it was going to about her friendship with Barbara Olson, who was killed in the crash at the Pentagon. The narrative spun away from Ms. Coulter out of control and became a vicious and utterly absurd attack on Bill and Hillary Clinton. Ever since, I've wondered if Ms. Coulter had enough humanity in her to write about a friend who was killed on September 11. After spending some time spewing venom at the Clintons, she turned her hatred on Muslims, whether they were the few who were guilty or the multitude who were innocent of what happened that day. It was pretty scary stuff.
If you want to try to see if it'sd really that bad, here it is. It makes a good example for English teachers on how not to write a composition.

(13,324 posts)virtual brain-death of American conservatism. Pathetic hacks like Tom Sowell are what pass nowadays for "intellectual" conservatives.

(426 posts)She makes her living writing bullshit based on fear mongering and hate speech. Seriously, does she have a real job? She sells herself as a symbol for other fear mongers. She makes her living reveling in the misery of the poor by calling them moochers. I could go on and on . . .
Sick - yes. But far too weak a word to truly describe her.

(40,416 posts)He played the judge in Anatomy of a Murder, with James Stewart, Lee Remick, Ben Gazarra, George C. Scott. A great flick, BTW.
Extended trailer:
Oh! And by the way. I forgot. It also has a Duke Ellington soundtrack.

(3,059 posts)So I'll just give you to the link.
From "The Front", it's one of the all time great scenes about the witch hunts.
On edit:
Had no idea posting the link would bring up the scene...I guess I do know how to imbed stuff.
Uncle Joe
(58,482 posts)and I learned to imbed here at D.U. the same way you did, by accident.

(426 posts)that Ted Cruz actually watches old reels of McCarthy and tries to imitate him. It is genuinely astounding how the extreme right in this country can totally miss the point of past mistakes in our history and still let words like freedom and patriotism roll off their tongues.
Then again, Cruz proved during his little 'filibuster' that he didn't understand a Dr. Seuss book. Guess I shouldn't be surprised.
