Because they are only made once a year, unlike the many Holiday Reeses PB products (which are my close second fave), Cadbury Mini Eggs are that special Easter Candy for me.
Kind of like Shamrock Shakes at St Patricks Day time. You know you can only get these products for a short amount of time, so you better savor them while you can.

Brach's used to make them if I remember correctly. Other companies and candy stores made them too but Brach's was usually widely available.

Independent chocolate shops may make them still, I don't know, I seldom buy candy any more.

Most years are like this year and it's malted milk eggs. I eat them for several days, my guts get ferociously upset, and I swear I'll never do it again....until next year.

Being Jodo Shinshu and all... but I never understood the connection between Easter and Chocolate. Halloween I understand, though its not a religious day. In Japan, there is a day when its talked about Rabbits (Similar to the Easter bunnies) on the Moon pounding Mochi.. which is a treat in Japan. More about that here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moon_rabbit

Anyway.. Please enjoy your holiday!

of finding ways to commercialize every holiday. It's just not a proper holiday unless corporations are making tons of profit by shaming us into ever more extravagant displays of 'affection' by handing out overpriced greeting cards and candy and decorating with all sorts of cheap kitsch.

I'd probably have to search it up again, but I remember learning that, like many Christmas traditions, the whole bunny/egg 'chocolate' thing at Easter has Pagan roots.

Marshmallow eggs.

Not the ones covered in chocolate.

The other ones...a semi-hard candy shell with marshmallow inside. The outer shell comes in different colors...red, green, orange, yellow, pink...sometimes blue.
