(27,985 posts)I am awed and grateful to be alive to see this. I suppose it's selfish of me to want to see the same thing with marijuana, and with fair treatment of those who are not white and while we're at it, poly people getting the right to marry.
Aw, hell, I'll just take this, sit back and enjoy it. I'm not gay but this is just the right thing. And it's beautiful to be alive to see it.

(15,557 posts)I saw two people I used to work with standing in line in Oakland County courthouse waiting to marry. They have been together for 26 years! They are both highly educated, well-respected individuals who have been contributing members of society for all of their adult lives. I know them as extremely peace-loving, compassionate people who also somehow, in their busy days, find the time to volunteer for very worthy causes in the community.
All I can say is it's about time they were also able to lawfully wed and enjoy the benefits that other married couples enjoy.
Schuette will lose this one and needs to stop wasting Michigan taxpayers' money. Lord knows there are so many other things the money should be used for in this state.
