Phyllis Schlafly claims that an assignment in an Illinois high schools sociology class and a Oregon health class assignment dating back to 1984 are signs that the public education system is trying to prepare us to accept death panels from Obamacare.
The students were given the list of the 10 who desperately needed kidney dialysis with identification about their occupation, age and ethnicity, and told to give each a score. The instructions stated: Put the people in order using 1-10, 1 being the person you want to save first and 10 being the person you would save last, with the assumption that those getting scores 7 through 10 would be marked for death.
Since when are high-school students allowed to judge who may live and who must die? Is this to prepare us to accept death panels from Obamacare?
Unfortunately, such public school class assignments are not new. A Department of Education hearing in Seattle on March 13, 1984, heard a parent describe the Health class at Clackamas High School in Oregon.
Naturally, Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin and Todd Starnes are also on the case.

Reagan was President on March 13, 1984, so this must mean... HE SUPPORTED OBAMACARE DEATH PANELS OVER 20 YEARS BEFORE OBAMA WAS EVEN PRESIDENT!!1! OH NO!!!!1!

(11,908 posts)even with the ACA, rations health care according to how much money you have in your pocket, but of course, stupid republicans are unable to see this.

(46,706 posts)that visits the local Chamber of Commerce organizations on an annual basis.
This organization puts the members through a challenge. They break the attendees into three groups, each assigned a status within a fictitious community. Group A is defined as the decision-makers; Group B is the human services and the medical groups; Group C are the poor.
Throughout the day they separated into their respective groups to strategize. My friend was in Group C. The first time they met, Group C was led to a room that had no furniture, so when they met the second time that day, they "stole" the chairs from the larger meeting room. When they were not provided snacks or lunch during these meetings, like the other groups, they stole the danishes and coffee from the reception area. Given no resources to work with, when they were asked how they spent their time they said they passed the time engaging in sex for recreation.
Meanwhile, Group A became more indignant about the boldness of Group C, that they began to make rules to restrict their behavior. When Group B tried to step in to help, Group A made rules to restrict them too. These were not minor infractions. Because the people who sponsored this test did not apply any restrictions on Group A, some of the rules they created ensured the death of each individual. For example, they restricted food and medical resources to Group C and decided how many points could be accumulated before they became deceased. Group C was wiped out by lunchtime. Group B was wiped out too when the individuals lost their jobs whenever they tried to intercede.
This is the result the year my friend participated in this test. She said that the organizers said that in all the years that they had sponsored this test, it was the bleakest outcome they had ever seen. This occurred around the time that the Republicans were starting their power surge. Sometime after the Clinton impeachment and a few years before the march on Iraq with Bush II.
The lesson is very obvious. It's a terrible mistake to expect any kind of humane response coming from the leadership within the Republican party. In the last sixteen years there has been a trickle-down social engineering going on, and they know exactly how they want it to end.
