Those in their party who STILL voted NO at the final hour, specifically and Eric Cantor who changed a House Rule to give himself personal authority over putting the government back to work, OWE the American people 24 Billion dollars.
Supposedly "for our own good" they staged this debacle, but in truth, they are trying to save their campaign contributors BIG Pharma and the like from losing money when ACA starts producing cost savings for the average consumer.
What do you think?

(16,879 posts)each one of those teabagger districts. Maybe if they feel the pain, they'll be careful about who they elect next time. And I say that as someone with a teabagger Congressman who joined the shutdown group.

(7,887 posts)RIGHT - Elections have consequences.
We WON so we get to follow the rules and present laws that reflect a good direction for the country based on real research and evidence.
THEY LOST. Changing the rules because you lost and are losing again isn't just unsportsmanlike, it's CHEATING writ big.

Yes, slap the bill to the RNC, FreedomWorks, Koch Brothers, Adelson, and any other right-wing organizations that wanted to make it an oligarchy and then sic the collection sharks after them 24/7. Get the RNC to shake down their usual billionaires to foot the bill.
Then officially kick the Tea Party assholes out of their party. Agree to turn the gavel over to the Democratic House. Rethuglican Party is down to 75 after the purge.

FreedomWorks, Koch Brothers, Adelson, and any other right-wing organizations that wanted to make it an oligarchy to the billing chain and then sic the collection sharks after them 24/7.
Then when they complain send them emails with babies crying and a picture of a WHAMBULANCE, with the caption, "Ah, did your wittle feelings get hurt because you got caught being naughty? TOUGH call a WHAMBULANCE or 1-800-somonewhocares."

THEY should pay one way or another.

(7,887 posts)He thinks we should just roll over and add it to the great grand kid's tab.
It may wind up there, BUT these individuals will PAY for their reckless behavior with the US economy. ONE WAY or another. Financially, Politically, through Judicial means or all of the aforementioned.
THIS is their Benedict Arnold moment where they CHOSE their money changers over the people, right in front of the people's face on 24 hour news cycle and THEY MUST be held accountable.

(7,887 posts)Old fashioned expression, meaning just put them on a train out of town and tell them "Don't come back"
OK, it was a bit meaner than that, but basically the same idea. GO and never return.

(16,879 posts)Did you see 'O Brother, Where Art Thou?' Near the end, when the Klan guy is making his speech, they bring out a wooden rail and put the Klan guy on it and carry him out, presumably to take him out of town. I heard the expression used a lot when I was growing up, and that was the meaning I understood of the expression, anyway.

(7,887 posts)What is ironic, though, is that Nevada has been shipping their mentally ill patients to California on a one-way bus trip.
And literally, they did tie someone up on a rail and take them out of town. BUT the Don't come back, ya'hear? was still the MAIN message.

(15,262 posts)Obamacare defunding and all the other lame excuses are just a cover to obfuscate their treasonous behavior because they know it would have unacceptable political consequences to admit their true intentions, destroy the economy in order to further their dominionist goal for the new reich.

(7,887 posts)Up post, we thought we should add the Koch Brothers et al to the list as well.
Even if it's only symbolic we should invoice them for our bills and maybe even add lines for pain and suffering.
THEY were CAUGHT and they should pay in every legal way possible.
Sign the petition in my sig line if you agree.
