(48,121 posts)earlier tonight I was on http://newspapermap.com/ and zeroed right in on it to find some news outlets.
And have been spending a ton of time on google maps researching the whole area for some time (partially relating to some old books I am reading - and it helps to have old maps handy as well when reading old travel diaries in the region. Amazing how the world has changed there since the early 1800's and yet some things have not). One such book (free online, old and out of copyright)
