Keith Olbermann returning to ESPN

Keith Olbermann is coming back to ESPN.

Olbermann, one of ESPN's most noted SportsCenter anchors in his days being paired with Dan Patrick, is making his return.

Olbermann, who has been off the air since leaving Current TV a year ago, will host an hour-long show on ESPN2 starting Aug. 26 and shown at 11 p.m. ET. The show will be titled Olbermann.

According to Bill Press, no political discussion will be allowed-- wonder how long Olbermann can hold out.

Think Progress's sports reporter was on the Bill Press show this morning and he was saying Nate Silver was also going to be doing some work for ESPN and appearances on Olbermann's show. I will definitely tune in on those nights.

...the place where his career took off and in a realm that he is comfortable with. While I admire Keith's dedication and watched him for years, he was his own worst enemy; burning out and burning bridges along the way. Going back to ESPN may help him revive his career and stay in an area that didn't stress him out as much as his MSNBC and Current TV gigs did.

I watched him faithfully, and, as much as I like Chris Hayes, I don't think anyone can replace Keith.

I especially liked his "Worst Persons in the World" segment and his commentaries.

I'm sorry his new show will be devoted to sports, which doesn't interest me at all.

But it is his decision. The way things are going on some of these cable networks now I don't think he would have the freedom to be himself.
