ever lived in such a state. People want to please the state, they become willing to turn in their neighbors and even family members. They keep 'lists'. It brings out the good and the bad in people.

Someone would have to torture me or one of my loved ones before I would become a despicable informer. There is no lower form of life. It was informers who got so many killed in Nazi Germany and elsewhere, and for what? A pat o the back from the 'authorities'? Out of some kind of misguided 'loyalty'?

This OP sickens and frightens me frankly considering how many people I have known who were unfortunate enough to come from oppressive countries where this was a real fear.

'The List'!! A shameful, unless it's meant to be a joke, OP to see here. Sickening actually.

I love South America and love how they have gotten out from under the thumbs of their Western backed Dictators who were selling their resources, torturing their dissidents, and impoverishing their nations. NOW that is over, it's quite amazing how fast it happened after so many decades of oppression, with Western backing of course.

So I KNOW I am on 'The List'!

Your OP is very much expected in a country that has lost its way so spectacularly.

Homeland Security has a website, you might want to turn in your list to them. We pay them enough to keep them in operation, may as well at least give them something to do.

to do. And they have failed, most of them, to do the job they were hired to do.

And their employers, that would be the American people, are not happy. Seen any numbers on Congress' popularity lately? On the US Government anywhere in the world??

This is a government OF the people, FOR the people, and BY the people. How quickly people forget these things and suck up to those who they view as some kind of 'authority'. They are employees, that is all. No better and some a whole lot worse than most of the people themselves.

that's some paranoid shit right there. All I said in normal society would be construed as "yes, we've heard your complaints. we get it."

but the rabies-infused strain of posters now conflate my statement into "an enemies list" and "informing on people".

uhhh....if you went there.....you need your head examined.

I guess my pet peeve is when people get aggressive and insist on arguing with someone until they force them to change the way they think and agree with them, which never happens. If you don't feel the government if violating the 4th Amendment that is your freedom to do so. It is also my freedom to think they are and to put pressure on the politicians I vote for, and to vote for someone else is I am displeased with the way they represent me.

get to hear on the Corporate Media. Larry King just joined them btw.

Thom Hartman and Max Keiser both have shows on RT, but their documentaries, their interviews with famous and infamous world leaders are excellent. No shouting over someone who is being interviewed, and few commercial interruptions.

I cannot watch what passes for news on the corporate media. All our 'news' people are nothing more than entertainers.

Have you noticed the number of young women reporters, real reporters they have? And who intelligent and well informed on so many subjects they are? I wonder why they couldn't get jobs on the corporate media? Too smart I suppose.
