Let the news media report on him. Let SNL mock him. Let the Justice Department investigate and let the Courts prosecute. But, above all else, let the Republican Party deal with him. They own him and he is now their problem. The Democratic Party has already spent far too much time on this sociopathic narcissist. The Democratic Party should spend all of its energies on America's other problems.
Just my opinion.

(25,473 posts)It requires concurrence from the courts. So, basically, you have it backwards.
"Congress cannot simply declare an official outside of that body ineligible under Section 3 without the concurrence of the courts. To hold otherwise would allow simple majorities in Congress to oust federal and state officials without judicial scrutiny and would subvert long-established constitutional principles, such as life tenure for federal judges and the limits of the impeachment process."

(25,473 posts)"Unless" indicates the possibility of bringing charges if they enact the 14th Amendment.
That's not the same as "congress won't be the one to bring charges"
Secondly, it's not charges that are required. It's a conviction.
There's a lot of confusion about the 14th Amendment. Unfortunately, it's exacerbated by left-leaning media like MSNBC who bring it up constantly without the context that it requires a conviction.

(63,917 posts)the acquittal of the murderer will our media promote and question for the next 3 years if he's going to run again??? If so, the media is just as bad as he is. Promoting a inciter???
But then again the Senate was not a court room. He will get his day in court.
