that's where the alleged "Democracy" plot is lost. They're trying to ram legislation through that the majority of Texans don't want. Same shit as in DC where the gun lobby, Goldman-Sachs, Koch bros, et al run everything. Like with Grover Norquist, no one elected THEM - yet they get full representation and 'we the people' get none, even while our tax dollars pay Congress's salaries.

Democracy falling apart.

There is a large portion of the population that is opposed to what the Republicans are about, but it is a minority and until it becomes a majority of the people Texas will just have to accept what ever Republicans dish out to them...

Then when he got in there, he turned HARD right and started it. Bait & switch. They do what their corprat and religious owners want often stampeding right over the will of the people they're supposed to be representing.

EDIT:

But I agree that the TX people MUST vote them out of office if they truly want to stop this crap.

I think a lot of these people like Perry are re-elected simply because so many people pay no attention to what's going on.

It's honestly very scary. I have had first-hand experience with it as a person going door-to-door pushing certain environmentalist or other types of political agendas. The average American has no clue, just none at all.

As a former advertising exec, I see it as "top-of-mind" awareness. They vote for what's familiar.

If Wendy wins, it will be the biggest political win ever. It has the potential to, I believe. And if her support network gets bigger, polls will start putting her 8-10 points over Mr. Hair-Doo. Expect Clinton, and maybe some other big name political person to start campaigning for her. Hope a majority of the state can get behind Wendy. She can do it, but with our help.

A lot of them act like moderates while on the campaign trail, but once they are elected BOOM! they go wayyy to the right. I have a cousin that considered voting for Romney, but because he flipped flopped so much my cousin thought he would pretty much pull a Scott Walker and decided to vote for Obama.

But not in Texas. They like their meat red, raw and bloody. The most you can hope for is that once elected they won't be quite as crazy as they promised to be. . . a hope that is realized less and less frequently.

elected by only 12% of eligible voters but they were the majority that voted. Texas has a terrible record of getting people excited about voting and finding candidates to be really excited about. Wendy Davis is one of the few that may make that go away.

In this regard. In many cases, the Dems don't see any point in supporting Democratic candidates in Texas, because they think the odds of beating the rethug is low probability. Instead they throw the money at other races in other parts of the country that they feel they have a better chance.

I understand this strategy, but at the same time I think they were really making some headway with Dean's 50 state strategy.

for all of the Americans who desire to be equal to each other. Wendy Davis' rising to prominence sure proven herself that she can deal with the Republican-heavy weight in the Texas' conservative consortium.

I spoke with some of my friends who are Democrats, we all already agreed, we would rather to have Wendy Davis over Hillary Clinton for 2016 Presidential election. If she runs, its guaranteed Texas and Florida will go blue for her which will rise her electoral votes enough to win it all.

Stand for Women~ Stand for Texas

But right now, our state is in trouble. Every single statewide office is held hostage by the kind of politician who cares more about their own future than that of their fellow Texans. So, it’s far too rare that young Texans realize their biggest dreams.

For the last decade, we have watched the politicians in power embarrass Texas and diminish our dreams on an almost daily basis. They have long forgotten what real Texans want or need, forgotten that lots of folks don’t agree with them on so many issues:

They’ve forgotten their duty to represent all of us - folks who work hard every day,

They’ve forgotten the people whose quality of life depends on the quality of state leadership,

They’ve forgotten the down-to-earth Texans who count on politicians to care about them.
