Edited to Add: Facebook appears to now have removed the page. THANK YOU to everyone who reported and to the DUer who brought this to our attention yesterday !I did not want to click on this link when one of our DU posters notified us of it yesterday, but after awhile, I did. And what I saw there, I swear to God I thought was illegal. It seemed to be inciting to violence, showing pictures of lynching with the face/body of a murdered young black man photoshopped onto the swinging bodies; Nazi concentration camps with him inside. That's really all I could bear before I hit "REPORT". Today, I was informed FB does not consider the page inappropriate and it will not be removed. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME????
Is there a higher authority to appeal to? They remove pages from Dog Rescuers, but let this crap stay up? WTF gives? If you have the stomach, please report this page. You don't have to look at it.. just report it, if you are a FB user.

(146,350 posts)I'm sure it will be removed, but not until some actual person at Facebook with the power to do so looks at it. That takes a long time, sometimes. In the meantime, publicizing the page widely, as you have done here, will help to stimulate reports.
Facebook is very slow to act in the face of racism and other horrors.

(146,350 posts)So, I escalated the report, using the feedback option attached to that message. Clearly, nobody has actually looked at the page. Eventually, they will, though, and then, they'll remove it.

(20,582 posts)I just started a FB page to promote some stuff I'm making and was able to report this. Here is what I got back:
Details Thank you for taking the time to report something that you feel may violate our Community Standards. Reports like yours are an important part of making Facebook a safe and welcoming environment. We reviewed the page you reported for containing hate speech or symbols and found it doesn't violate our community standard on hate speech.
I told them to have a f*ing look at the page and the photos, obviously they're just going by the title to base their 5 second investigation on.

(38,613 posts)I hope that's the case, anyway.

(38,613 posts)I reported it as well.
On the plus side, such as it is, every comment I saw on the page was against the page owner.

(37,364 posts)I saw what you described and reported it and got a message from FB that it would not be removed. I returned after reading the last post on this thread and got my home page. I entered the name of the page in the search and got a RIP Trayvon Martin page which was an honest memorial for the young man and the URL that showed was different than the one you have posted.
