Ecuador denies giving Snowden a travel document: report

Ecuador denies giving Snowden a travel document: report

(Reuters) - Ecuador has not given a temporary travel document to former U.S. intelligence contractor Edward Snowden, the South American nation's acting foreign minister told local media on Wednesday.

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has said that Snowden, wanted by the United States for leaking secret information about a spying program, had received a refugee document from Ecuador.

"That's not true. There is no passport, no document that has been given (to Snowden) by any Ecuadorean consulate," Galo Galarza said in comments posted on the website of Ecuador's Teleamazonas, a private television station.

<...>

Snowden fled the United States to Hong Kong this month after leaking details of secret U.S. government surveillance programs, then flew on to Moscow...He remains in the transit area of Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport and is seeking safe passage to Ecuador, which has said it will consider his appeal for political asylum. Patino said earlier on Wednesday that the process of reviewing the request could take weeks.

or Venezuelan Embassy.

Two people left the plane before the others and were seen getting into a diplo car with Ecudoran plates or similar

I find it interesting that Putin is giving cover.

It's a giant mess they have on their hands

Snowden has no passport -- Hong Kong bs'ed about spelling his middle name wrong, really messy

So interesting the Refugee document was a lie.

Assange wants transparency but lies like a rug!

will be playing hot potato with info for a while. Just like a magician with a sleight of hand trick. They want us to direct our focus and will say whatever serves that purpose while they do something different. F them. Don't let them control shit. We should listen and nod our heads while the government acquires intel. Maybe we should put up a big billboard.
We got Osama.
We got Rusty.
We'll get you.

Edward Snowden is not booked to fly out of Moscow over the next three days, and with no valid passport, the NSA whistleblower(sic) might be stuck in airport limbo indefinitely.

The hot pursuit of Snowden has ground to a halt three days after the former CIA technician, wanted in the US on espionage charges, flew into Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport from Hong Kong.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, who confirmed that Snowden had arrived in Moscow as a transit passenger despite speculation to the contrary, rebuffed US demands on Tuesday.

“We can only extradite any foreign citizens to such countries with which we have signed the appropriate international agreements on criminal extradition,” Putin said, adding that as Snowden had committed no crime on Russian soil, he is free to travel at will.

“Snowden is a free person. The sooner he chooses his final destination, the better it is for him and Russia,” Putin continued.

I just saw this and haven't seen it posted here so I'm tagging it onto your thread, ProSense. and saying Good Night!

I do doubt Snowden will "be stuck in airport limbo indefinitely"!
