(45,319 posts)As a pragmatist, her 'thinking' is only proven by her actions. She voted with the right wing. I am glad she was with us on DOMA, I expected her to vote against us on that one too.

(53,112 posts)I say seems because I've only read the SCOTUS blog summary, not the ruling or dissent as it's not yet posted. Justices don't vote like politicians. The rule on points of law. The prop 8 ruling didn't touch the merits of the case. They ruled exclusively on the point that a private citizen does not have standing to challenge constitutionality when the state does not. They made no determination about whether gay marriage was constitutional in that ruling.
