Orders for Paula Deen cookbook surge

Advance orders for Paula Deen's new cookbook have surged since the Food Network and Smithfield Foods axed her for using a racial slur.

Orders for "Paula Deen's New Testament: 250 Favorite Recipes, All Lightened Up" surged on Amazon (AMZN, Fortune 500) by nearly 1,300% in the last 24 hours.

The cookbook was ranked 115th on Tuesday, compared to a ranking of 1,592nd on Monday

"Paula Deen's New Testament" is not available until October.

Another cookbook, "Paula Deen's Southern Cooking Bible," jumped 114% to Amazon sales rank 350, from 750 in the prior 24 hours.

Deen's agent did not immediately return a message from CNNMoney about the book sales.

Suthern Christian Krackers are upset that some Yankee network cutoff a good ol girl for using a perfectly acceptable word int heir eyes, so now they're gonna stick it to em and buy her shit and eat at her nasty ass buffet.

I assume their preachers will tell them from the pulpit to buy Good Sister Deen's stuff.

That'll show em

That side of the aisle, like most 7 year old children, love to do the opposite of what's wise/expected of them, simply to be contrary.

I hope to hell none of the people buying those cookbooks & eating that crap are on Medicare because I don't want MY TAX DOLLARS paying for their scooter, diabetes treatment or socialized heart surgery!

Just make sure to spell my name right.

It's an old saying, and it applies.

I could not physically eat her food for multiple health reasons. But if you are into southern food...it is good cooking.

She's what she is, but as a cook, in her style of cooking, she's good. So people who like that...well...

I also suspect, without qvc y'all and food network...y'all this will be short termed.

She's been a rude caricature of herself for a long time now.

Here's a 2010 comment from someone writing about her over on the Food Network site:

It’s almost like she’s gotten so over the top that she feels like she needs to top herself. She’s no longer teaching people how to prepare Southern food, rather she’s trying to draw attention to herself with ridiculousness.

The appalling comments I have seen from the ignorant defending that racist prick are incredible. Deen is the image of what is wrong with this country: a woman who seems "sweet" on the surface is actually a raging racist asshole. And the stupid bigots who defend her think they are right.

This country is doomed. And rightfully so.

The more controversial a product is, the more people inexplicably want to buy it.

Witness the sickening mad rush to buy AR-15s after Sandy Hook Elementary.

All of the sympathy people are showing her is ridiculous. She has had a great life, with unbelievable success and fame. You know who didn't have a great life? Many African-Americans, particularly in the South, who Paula Deen berated and treated with no regard with her use of racial slurs toward them.
