Omaha utility crews to assist with Minneapolis power outages

Omaha Public Power District crews are headed to Minneapolis, where a series of powerful storms caused widespread power outages.
More than 200,000 customers remain without power in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, said Paula Lukowski, OPPD spokeswoman.
More than 500,000 were without power at the peak of the storms.
The utility is sending four three-member crews to assist Xcel Energy in restoring power.
Lukowski said OPPD also is sending two mechanics and 15 pieces of equipment.
