Connecticut: Going to Get Health Insurance Just Like a Visit to the Apple Store (344,000 uninsured)
In a marketing move inspired by Apple, Access Health CT, the quasi-government agency working to make sure Connecticuts 344,000 uninsured people understand their options for October 1 enrollment, will be opening storefronts in seven cities where 85% of the uninsured live.
Were going to have people behind the genius bar that are brokers, Kevin Counihan, CEO of Access Health CT, said.
Genius idea? Maybe. The storefront idea was inspired by Apple -- a successful marketer that brought computer retail from online to the malls and downtowns of America based on offering in-store experts performing a service, not just handing goods over the counter in exchange for money.
So far, Connecticut is the only exchange in the U.S. opening up storefronts for their marketplaces.
