Perhaps, but studies say increasing accidents are occurring to texting pedestrians, maybe not only the slow and dull.

I'd link the story but I've lost it.

there is a point in a green light for traffic is still "go" but the pedestrian's light is signaling "stop", and they are not supposed to be walking so that drivers can turn right. I get pedestrians all the time who step off the curb to walk even though their light tells them not to.
