I would like to know...
This pisses me off. Because our healthcare organizations are spending BILLIONS to secure patient doctor confidentiality and health infromation privacy.
YET....the NSA just blows all that out of the water by intercepting emails, phone calls, test results, HL7 messages transmitted across systems.

My response to all this spying: The fact that your mail is not opened without probable cause is exactly like the government and its private agents setting up a camcorder in your living room and letting it role and the government saying they won't view the video unless there is cause
It's the same freakin thing. Its a search without seizure. It's outrageous and its unconstitutional You would and should not stand for it.

(53,061 posts)They are collecting data which is then used to follow up on specific foreign threats.
"the NSA collects the phone data in broad swaths, because collecting it (in) a narrow fashion would make it harder to identify terrorism-related communications. The information collected lets the government, over time, make connections about terrorist activities. The program doesn't let the U.S. listen to people's calls, but only includes information like call length and telephone numbers dialed."[15]
Many people are upset at the simple collection of mega data, which is fine, but the idea that they are capturing and listening to individual domestic conversations is not what this 'scandal' is about.
