Bill Ayers believes President Obama gets a failing grade for his presidency, and should be tried for war crimes, along with all living presidents who have engaged in acts of terrorism abroad.
Sitting down for an episode of RealClearPolitics Morning Commute, Ayers told host Charlie Stone that, on policy, Obama receives a failing grade along with the F-minuses hes given previous presidents like George W. Bush and Richard Nixon.
I dont think hes let anybody down, Ayers added, pointing to how during the 2008 presidential campaign then-Senator Obama consistently declared himself to be a middle-of-the-road, pragmatic politician. Ayers also described his favorable opinion of Obamas personality and the fact that he is interested and spends a lot of time reading.
Stone pointed out that Ayers views presidents like Lyndon B. Johnson, Nixon, and Bush with disdain for their terrorist actions, and then asked whether Obama is on that same level for his executive use of drone strikes abroad.
Of course, Ayers replied.

Pres. Obama is not a war criminal and I still support him, I may disagree with some of his policies, but I still overall support him.

(100,139 posts)Obama should be tried for war crimes, despite that none were committed on his watch, when the real crime was that he ended the 10 year war for profit that should have ended 6 fucking years ago?

(32,136 posts)Just being sarcastic. But the Afghan war is every much a war for profit. Our mission accomplished was at the end of 2001 when the Taliban were driven from power. We should have left then.

(8,492 posts)I found out a couple or so years ago he's a distant cousin. Along with some other questionable and infamous relatives, he can go fuck himself. How does one commit acts of terrorism and then whine about war crimes?
Let's talk about failures, shall we, cous'?

(11,464 posts)the interesting thing about Bill Ayers is, the same people who didn't like Obama back then, don't like him now just shifting their talking points
I always liked Bill Ayers and don't jump ship because of a conversation he had.
Like sure, ya, the people putting Obama down would want Ayers on the US Supreme Court.
like ya, that's the ticket.
But I would
and note-Ayers likes Obama and says it right there.
SO really folks, nuance it please.

(13,114 posts)I agree wholeheartedly !!!!
I wish we would apologize to every country that we have invaded, occupied and droned.
I wish we would apologize to the countries where we overthrew their duly elected governments.
I wish we would close our bases around the world.
Bring our troops homes.
Give them decent paying jobs rebuilding this crumbling country.
Get our idling manufacturing base humming at full speed turning out single family wind turbines and single family solar systems.
Plant hemp from north to south and east to west.
Legalize cannabis.
Reboot our educational system.
Pay people who perform manual labor, service labor, repetitive motion, assembly line tasks, etc. People who work with their hands. People who build and create. People who sweat from a hard days labor deserve good pay and respect.
Our priorities are misplaced.
We value people who move money from point A to point B.
We don't value the people who built everything that enabled the money movers to do their jobs.
Crack down on crime in this country, real crime.
Go after Wall Street, go after the crooked politicians, go after the corrupt abusive police gangs, go after the corrupt judges and district attorney's, go after the corporations that are breaking the law, go after corporations that are abusing their work forces, go after the drug companies and hospitals that are robbing us blind, go after the corrupt prison system. GO AFTER THE REAL CRIMINALS WITH A VENGENCE !!!! Double their penalties to set an example that the era of CORRUPTION and GREED is OVER !!!! For those whose crimes were theft; confiscate all their ill gotten gains. A man can have his home taken away for growing an herb, but you can crash the global economy and get a raise and bonus. Does anyone think this is sane ? I can't be the only one who thinks this way.
Reverse the destructive laws that have been passed in this country;
NAFTA
CAFTA
All Free Trade agreements
Repeal the Patriot Act
Retire Homeland Security
Reinstate Glass Steagall and pass new stricter legislation
Start reining in the power of corporations; corporations are not people, they never have been, they never will be. Just because a court ruled they are is just insane.
The possibilities are endless at what could be accomplished. Things that benefit the people, the planet, not a select few that have taken nearly the entire pie.
That's my dream for this country,
But alas, it is only a dream.
