It's not blocking anything. Tor is good for that though. I use Ghostery to stop trackers. Though I'm not sure how well it would work against NSA queries.

For instance, according to Ghostery, Google Analytics and Google AdSense are trying to track my movements on DU. I use AdBan and AdBlock, so no worries about accidentally clicking a link that might take me somewhere that I don't want to be associated with.

How much that thwarts Nosy NSA Parkers, I have no idea. But it can't hurt.

And I prefer solutions to sniping. So if you've got a bug free suggestion, we're breathless with anticipation.

Tor is funded partly by the State Department because they see it as in our interests that the citizens of foreign countries are able to proxy their way around the firewalls that some countries erect on the internet.

Domestically, I don't think they care because it's simple enough to identify specific computers, proxied or not.

But honestly, I didn't know this until your post.

Since every page I open is being spied on, I get a "round" of Pink Floyd, which may be the point, but PLEASE help me turn it off!

Big Pink Floyd fan, but the jumbled audio is a bit much.

and the new economy, you know the one that threatened the old economy by killing off so many middle men and leveling the playing field; is officially dead.

The problem with some of these apps is they like to constantly announce their presence. The ideal ones are lightweight, unobtrusive and practically invisible. AdBlock for Firefox is a good example of this. As much as I like Pink Floyd, I prefer my add-ons make NO sound.
