Meet "N1ggerkiller"... he's the son of Senator Jeff Flake and he goes by "N1ggerkiller" online,

Last edited Wed Jun 12, 2013, 07:03 PM - Edit history (1)

These are the things we have learned to day about how members of Senator Jeff Flake's family talk and feel about minorities. Gay people are "fa**ots, Mexicans are the scum of the Earth and Black people should be killed. Welcome to Arizona.

Arizona Senator’s Son Used Homophobic, Anti-Semitic Language On Twitter

Sen. Jeff Flake’s high school–aged son Tanner used Twitter to threaten the “faggot” who stole his bike that he “will find you, and … will beat the crap out of you,” joked about an acquaintance stealing one-liners because he’s Jewish, and went by the name “n1ggerkiller” in an online game.
“I’m very disappointed in my teenage son’s words, and I sincerely apologize for the insensitivity. This language is unacceptable, anywhere. Needless to say, I’ve already spoken with him about this, he has apologized, and I apologize as well,” Sen. Flake said in a statement to BuzzFeed.
Although Tanner has since locked his Twitter account, a series of tweets from January and February show the Arizona Republican’s son repeatedly using the slurs.
Additionally, Flake posted screenshots of scores from games on “Fun Run,” a social gaming app. The screenshots show that Flake goes by the name of “n1ggerkiller.”

http://www.buzzfeed.com/johnstanton/arizona-senators-son-used-homophobic-anti-semetic-language-o

There is more at the link but I can paraphrase...he calls Mexicans "scum of the Earth" and it appears that in the Flake household the words "Ni**er" and "Fa**ot" get used a lot.

Let's help get this story in the news, DU. It seems like MSNBC is taking all their news from DU's Greatest Page lately.

I think it is simply a case of the nut not falling far from the tree. The nut just hasn't been taught you can't say those things in public... just to your friends and the people buying your father's senate seat for him.

I'm sure they'll have an article on him...the next time he comes out to hold hands with his rich teaper friends. Maybe he'll bring along his wonderful children so they can see what 'Everyone's Hometown' looks like. White, rich, old and angry!! They can drive around and look at all the torn, tattered and weather beaten flags these 'patriots' have hanging in their yards. They can stand in awe of those 'good Americans' that fly those old flags upside down. They can share a laugh at some of the racist and disgusting bumper stickers plastered on the backs of pickup trucks. Maybe they can attend the funeral of the young veteran that was just shot and killed by his own 4 year old child. If they play their cards right, they could probably have tea with the disgraced biker cops that beat the crap out of some kid in a bar. I'm sure they'd be glad to share some good old fashioned racist humor with the boys!

There are so many things for a young, racist, bigoted asshole to do here.

They make me ashamed of myself when I was 15. They are socially conscious, understand equality, are vocal about it, and work a damn sight harder toward those goals than most adults I know. This isn't the 50s or 60s anymore. Youth today have the internet, they have every chance in the world to understand what's going on out in the world. That this reprobate and evolutionary throwback continues to spout these antiquated slurs speaks volumes about the world he lives in, who he associates with, his home environment, and the racist bubble he inhabits. That his father's "family values" have spawned this is I think fair game.

that this pop-up shame culture can get out of hand quickly, and it doesn't serve much constructive purpose. With all the falling fruit, nuts and fecal matter, it's no wonder the Founders wrote into the Constitution a very old civil rights protection: "No bill of attainder or ex post facto law shall be passed." Article I, Sec. 9.

At least the signers didn't want Congress involved in the business of punishment due to "corruption of blood" (Webster's Collegiate).

it goes well beyond 'insensitive'.

interesting background:

Flake was born in Snowflake, Arizona, the son of Nerita (née Hock) and Dean Maeser Flake.[1] His birth town was named in part for his great-great-grandfather, Mormon pioneer William J. Flake.[2] Flake was educated at Brigham Young University and was a Mormon missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to South Africa in the early 1980s. He speaks Afrikaans. He worked in the public affairs sector after college and served as Executive Director of the Foundation for Democracy in Namibia and Executive Director of the Goldwater Institute before entering the House of Representatives. He opposed economic sanctions on South Africa in the 1980s.[3]

Foundation for Democracy in Namibia
The story begins in 1989, as Namibia was on the cusp of independence. Flake, then the executive director of a group called the Foundation for Democracy in Namibia, moved there to monitor the fledgling nation’s transition away from South African apartheid rule. On the House floor in 2004, he described that experience as the rare chance “to see a country draft its first constitution and actually look to the future with hope and optimism.”

He came back to Washington in 1990 and launched a consulting firm, Interface Public Affairs; he signed up the Rossing uranium mine, one of the new nation’s economic drivers, as a client. As its advocate in Washington, Flake undertook to “help introduce the corporation and its citizenship activities,” according to Justice Department records, and “to promote the image of the client.”

Rossing had a controversial history. The company had operated the Namibian mine since the 1970s. Anti-apartheid and antinuclear protesters had long criticized its operations. And a 1982 report from the United Nations Council for Namibia described “brutal and unsafe conditions” for workers there, and said that whites and blacks were treated differently. “Rossing can guarantee its mine a plentiful supply of cheap labor because it takes advantage of the apartheid system,” the report said.

the ownership of rossing is also interesting:

Rossing Uranium also has some interesting ownership. It is 69% owned by UK based international mining conglomerate Rio Tinto, parent company of Resolution Copper. But Rossing is also 15% owned by a little company called Iranian Foreign Investment Co.. The U.S. Treasury Department lists it as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Tehran regime.

http://tucsoncitizen.com/baja-democrats/2012/04/20/jeff-flakes-lobbyist-past-comes-back-to-haunt-him/

rio tinto was founded with opium money (jardine-matheson) & was taken over by a rothschild-led group of financiers in the 1880s. rothschild deeply involved in south african mining & still is; not sure the depth of involvement with rio tinto today but likely there is still some e.g.:

"Nonetheless, during the 1980s and early 1990s Rothschild and Rio Tinto continued to do deals. The bank was associated with the mining company when Rio Tinto planned to purchase the huge Cerro Colorado copper project in Pinochset's Chile, through its subsidiary, Rio Algom. (The project was delayed and Rio Tinto late sold off Rio Algom ["Plunder!" page 137]). And Rio Tinto bought up 40% of the vast - and hugely rich - Neves Corvo copper mine in Portugal in 1984 from two IMETAL subsidiaries... it is partly through their 120 year association with Rio Tinto that the Rothschilds have acquired an expertise in mine finance which is unrivalled."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Flake

Sorry. It reminds me of when that polygamist asswipe Evan Mecham was governor. Words like those used by the Flake-ette (or "baby Flake&quot became all too fucking common

As to the "talking lizard" remark, I was so amazed this was never mentioned during the Romney trudge to the White House:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salamander_letter

"According to this letter, when Smith dug up the plates a "salamander" appeared, which transformed itself into a spirit that refused to give Smith the plates unless his brother Alvin Smith was also present. This would have been very difficult, as Alvin was dead at the time of the alleged appearance. This reference may have been an attempt by Hofmann to associate the recovery of the gold plates to a rumor that Alvin's grave was dug up by Smith's family to use Alvin's remains in a magical ceremony."

Once again I must apologize to the world for the behavior of the tumbleweeds and trash that have drifted into this otherwise beautiful state.

I can't prove it, but I feel like the apology by Senator Flake is made with a wink. This issue will be brought up at election time, and hopefully it'll influence some decent folks to vote against him. But there are plenty of people out there that will see this as a good reason to vote FOR him.

Something he was used to hearing, perhaps? Seems as though the kid learned to be comfortable with it. Perhaps it occurred a LOT in that household. Just speculation, mind you.

But it seems to me when you use offensive terms so flagrantly (it's one of the names he uses in his frickin' games??????), either you're accustomed to hearing it around you that you're inured to it and you're used to not giving it a second thought, or you're just an asshole who likes to stir things up and you're going for shock value. I was trying to put the responsibility of the racist bs on the shoulders of the kid because he is his own entity. That being said, Tanner, seems to have a pervasive attitude that racist speak is alright and being a racist is part and parcel of his character. He appears to write, speak and think in these attitudes. He either has some very ignorant, low grade, peers, from whom he learned this attitude or it was passed on through his family.

All these kind of people regret is being exposed.

The apologies are for using the words, themselves, and not the uneducated defective character and attitude.

I hope the kid can change and wants to. But I suspect he is imprinted with a sick and wrong attitudes for life. He probably only feels resentment at getting in trouble for it.

I'd hate to believe that Jesse Jackson Jr learned mail and wire fraud from his dad, and I wouldn't want to think Al Gore taught his 13 year old son how to smoke weed. I don't want to blame the late John Murtha for passing on the finer points of cocaine sales to his then teenage son, and Democrat Jim Moran hopefully didn't instruct his son how to smash his girfriend's head into a trash can.

Like everybody, I have friends who are good people with kids who do bad. Never once have I chastised a friend for how their child turned out. If only we had such influence to clone our kids in our image, but by the time a child enters his or her teen years they make their own decisions.

Flake's kid had the same chance to form his own personality traits, for better or worse. Some of the best and brightest come from bad family environments, and vice versa.

I'll give Jeff Flake credit for not using mealy-mouthed words like "if someone was offended" or "if these charges are true" in his seemingly sincere apology, but I'll not give a pass to Jeff Flake's personal voting record. Like the media in general, I'll avoid judgment based on his offspring and focus on the man himself.

As a sad aside, it appears to me that Flake's son could now be a shoe-in as a future Tea Party candidate.

and a Republican and I believe his son learned his racism at his daddy's knee because every teabagger and almost every Republican I know is a racist. That's not partisan, that's facts. Watch Fox news, listen to right wing radio. These people are what they are and Jeff Flake is one of their newest golden boys.
Another thing: the Jeff Flakes of the world and Republicans in general claim to be the best "Christians" and have the monopoly on "family values." Most of the Democrats you cite are not trying to shove phony values and religion down everyone else's throats like our "good Christian" Republicans often do. Possibly, that's why there is less judgment of someone who is less judgmental of others.
Judge not lest ye be judged, or something like that. And yes, that goes for me too.

I'm not defending Flake, just injecting some perspective.

learn that shit in the schoolyard. He learned that shit in the home, from baby-hood.

I swear, when people finally get off their asses and start protesting against individual members of Congress, I hope the group protesting him holds up pictures of his shitty little kid and his rocket launcher and sings this song to him:

Who among us hasn't used the words fa**ot and ni**er at a greater frequency than 'the' and 'a', or gone by the nom de guerre 'N1GGERKILLER' when online? Let he among among who has not done this cast the first stone.

What bugs me is that we're not seeing one or two uses of these terms over long periods of time in fits of poor teen judgment. We're seeing persistent usage in developed thoughts over many different networks over long periods of time. This indicates a pretty firmly established belief system that looks to have been re-affirmed by his environment rather than refuted or "corrected" by an authority figure.

It's bullshit to say you can't blame the parent. This listing ship of racism was never righted by the parent. There's no way this kid could have gotten this far gone without a parent hearing about it and trying to fix it. The parents had to have known about this little fuckwad's positions on these matters and never applied any corrective thinking or guidance to him.

This is an indictment of Jeff Flake's family morality. This should be publicized far and wide.

They see killing humans as sport. And they relish in their power. They get away with this as they own the media. Those who dare speak up for the prey are called weaklings. It's a culture they built to justify their acts.

Having lived in Arizona for 30 years, I can say that this attitude is prevalent among the Republican types, and especially so among the Mormons. Remember where the money for California's Prop 8 came from. Having a teenager myself, I understand that this sort of crap leaks out from what's at home, if not explicitly, at least implicitly encouraged.

As the saying goes, you can't spell crazy without R-AZ.

If you can't be a role model, you can serve as a warning.

Given what State he is from I didn't think this would happen. I atleast give the father credit for that.

Generally these kind of attitudes and behaviors are learned starting from an early age. They may or not be things he has experienced in his own family but perhaps in his immediate surroundings of friends, classmates, etc.

I think Mr. Flake you are upset about the wrong things. It's your son's attitude that should embarrasse the hell outta you, not the language...but he got it from someone didn't he?

It's not his fault he raised a bigoted anti-semitic loser. Oh wait....maybe it is.

Sort of. The offensive words are old and still as offensive as ever. But if I had said stuff like that when I was a kid, my dad would have given a (deserved) swift kick in the ass and then he likely would have made me work with homeless or something. Seems like parents either can't or won't do stuff like that anymore. And while I am a non violent person, I think that maybe a good swift kick in the tail is needed here.
