This is why we have to have checks and balances on the police. http://gawker.com/judge-ignores-pleas-of-woman-arrested-for-protesting-se-512835541
Here you have a judge and two court officers ignoring a young women's questioning of their actions. In fact arresting her for questioning their actions. We are all aware that we presumably have the right to be searched by a same gender officer if a body search is warranted. This woman was simply asserting that right and ignored. She can only assert that right if she knows she has it. This "judge" is disgusting in her dereliction of duty.
The same is happening with the NSA programs. If the US government wants to set rules for what communication collection is permissible everyone should be advised of those rules. Otherwise, how can anyone question the extent of the collection? Snowden is being treated much like this woman. He is saying he thought he had the right to communicate freely without unnecessary scrutiny and he experienced that what he thought was true was not being upheld. He wants to know why. The response--throw him in jail for false accusations.
