Why flee to a country that is in the backdoor of China? Is the hacking of government by China related to the sudden release of all this information? Was it given to China before it was released to the public? Are we being duped? Was he assured a safe haven? Ask many questions before patting him on the back. Is the statement that he doesn't care about the politics of it all just really politics? Inquiring minds want to know.

(14,498 posts)Just general and repeated abuse of the term in re. to whistleblower cases : Ellsberg, Manning, Drake, DeVoort, Tamm and on and on it goes.
It's a little tedious at this point and some folks ( not YOU) might be better advised to invest in a thesaurus. They need a word that allows for the same sort of emotional, thought- free spleen venting they get from "traitor" and means something *close* to what they really want to say, but shouldn't ( 'cause it's not the right word) .
How 'bout "betrayer"? "Backstabber?" "Sneak"?
