Carney Snipes at ‘News Outlets Who Persist In Misrepresenting Facts’ In Exchange w/ Fox’s Ed Henry

President Obama‘s nomination of U.N. ambassador Susan Rice to the position of national security advisor has revived old conservative complaints about Rice’s involvement in the controversy over Benghazi talking points. Fox News’ White House correspondent Ed Henry brought this up during today’s press briefing, and press secretary Jay Carney began by remarking that he wants to correct the record against “news outlets who persist in misrepresenting the facts.”

Henry picked up on Carney touting Rice’s qualifications for the position, asking “If that’s the case, how did she get the information on Benghazi so wrong five days after the attack?” Carney responded taking a veiled swipe at Fox News (at the very least).

“Ed, I welcome the opportunity to correct the record, especially for some news outlets who persist in misrepresenting the facts.”
