Female Israeli soldiers disciplined for 'unbecoming behaviour' after posing for pictures

Four Israeli female soldiers have been disciplined after pictures of themselves dressed only in their underwear and combat gear were posted on Facebook.

The Israeli military said yesterday the group of women were punished for their 'unbecoming behaviour' after the pictures emerged on local news sites.

The images, published on Israeli news site Walla, showed the soldiers removing their fatigues to expose their underwear and back sides.

In another, five women posed in what appeared to be a barracks room, dressed only in helmets and a small amount of combat equipment.

Walla, which blurred the faces of the woman, said they were new recruits stationed on a base in southern Israel.

The incident is the latest in a string of episodes involving young Israeli soldiers on social media that have drawn reprimand from the military.

In a statement, the military said the young women had acted in a manner that showed 'unbecoming behaviour' for Israeli soldiers.

'The commanding officers disciplined the soldiers as they saw fitting,' it said.

dont take it seriously because they really dont want to be there. Or maybe they're just to immature to be in that type of environment.

As a female NCO (noncommissioned officer)if I found out one of my female Soldiers had done something like this she would get an ass chewing & a good old fashioned smoking (intense physical training) to ensure this never happens again.

Being female in the Army means we get to prove that we can roll with the males & nothing is more annoying than the women that try & use their femininity as an excuse or as manipulation to get things accomplish a certain way. By this I mean complaining they can't carry their gear because it's to heavy etc.

If we expect to be treated with respect & dignity then we need to act like it. Getting wrote up for discrediting the service is fully warranted in this situation.

At no time does a Soldier female or male get to act in such a manner. As females we have to work twice as hard to get taken seriously. If they want to do that fine do it out of uniform.

but I seem to recall the Israeli military used to use pictures of female soldiers as propaganda back in the 60s and 70s.

Horrors!!! Naughty girlie parts! Oh wait, didn't really see any.

I have heard **cough** there are a number of sites of men from all kinds of militaries around the world, who pose nude in their barracks, sometimes in uniform. I, of course, have never seen any such site....today.
