The one lady (my old neighbor for years) had her back broken in 6 places and other injuries, her fiance has a broken neck, punctured lungs and other injuries, and the driver was killed. (the second article mentions them but did not say if they were injured, the first did mention the injuries)
One of my friends posted this pic of him for our FB high school Memorial group today:

(48,121 posts)A small strip of dry land in the creek under the over pass where things wash up and geese lay eggs and such - right over the guardrail there are loads of huge rocks leading down into the creek. Had they flipped a quarter mile in either direction would have been mostly dirt (and the creek in that section is fairly shallow, my daughter and I walk around in the water there looking for shells, fishing for carp, etc - we nicknamed it zombie island years ago because the animal bones we find there).

(48,121 posts)Jackie's condition is not as bad as first thought, she has several spinal fractures (not broken) and she broke her shoulder. Her fiance's neck has a bad fracture (one of our friends is at the hospital giving updates as she gets them and asking people not to come down) where initially it was thought broken.
I know some folks don't like FB but at times like this it is nice for one person to be able to update everyone at once and not have to make a ton of calls.
