I hate the not knowing the most. They're tough though...

(26,877 posts)Nonetheless, every good vibe I have is headed out to OK (I lived in Tulsa for a spell, so I have a personal connection to this as well).

(17,213 posts)I used to live in Midwest City, back when my biggest concern was to avoid being beaten up by Doyle Daffron. Heck, I even got a "Good Citizenship" award from Jarman Jr. High (my english teacher was as surprised as I was, as I recall).

(3,933 posts)I know all the streets and towns named here tonight. Family all over Oklahoma, but close family all deceased. My heart really goes out to all going through these tornadoes.

(2,391 posts)I live 15 miles east of Midwest City. The weather reporters lost their freaking minds and panicked a bunch of people. There is very little damage reported except downed trees, power lines and some flipped semis and cars. Unfortunately, a woman and child were killed in a car on I-40 west of OKC. So far that is the only fatalities I have heard of and I haven't heard of any damage in Midwest City at all.

(24,853 posts)Family from OKC, Midwest City, Choctaw, Moore, and Norman have all checked in. Everyone seems to be OK.
I lived in Choctaw for a while, and never understood why I could hear my Dad going WOW from the front porch in the middle of the night during a vicious thunderstorm...
Y'all are BITCHIN' and I'm POSITIVE your good thoughts made a difference one way or another...

(54,051 posts)My partner's parents are in OKC and they just called. So you know, parts of OK have been having problems with cell phone reception. The storm here (NE OK) has started to subsided, just some rain and lightening, a bit of wind, but for Oklahoma, that is normal.
I am happy you were able to reach everyone.

(24,853 posts)I fucking love you.
Okay, I've been drinking. I was already drunk when the bartender turned the TV to the Weather Channel. I'm home now. My phone's been ringing off the hook... my Sister's been calling every time someone from OK checks in.
I fucking LOVE YOU.
