This person has done the public a disservice. She sucked up the media attention for her own use and took away from what Obama was trying to do.

SHAME ON HER!!!

She is a blight to her cause.

if Medea hadn't handed them an "alternative narrative" somebody else would have. They'd be interrupting coverage with urgent updates on a fender bender in New Jersey if they had to.

I respect Medea's past work but she jumped the shark in 2009. Now she's preaching the ratpack's gospel of drone and Scahill's defending her? I hope she's not being played.

In disrupting Obama's speech, @medeabenjamin asked POTUS a question no journalist has: What about the killing of 16 yr old Abdulrahman?

18. Scahill explains why Obama is worse than Bush, Cheney, Romney, and McCain:
Thu May 23, 2013, 11:29 PM
May 2013

all in one paragraph. I underlined the 4 names so you won't miss them:

So, you know, I think that because—because it’s a popular Democratic president, I think people have been convinced that things have really radically shifted, and in reality, they haven’t.

And I think a lot of the Bush people stand in awe of what President Obama has been able to do, because they know that they probably wouldn’t have been able to get it done themselves.

So, you know, there are ways in which Obama pushed the Cheney agenda far beyond what a President McCain or a President Romney would have been able to do, because he had his base of supporters.

And Cheney, McCain, and Romney? Because that makes me wonder if you're clear on the views members are expected to bring to this discussion. See if this helps:

Democratic Underground is an online community for politically liberal people who understand the importance of working within the system to elect more Democrats and fewer Republicans to all levels of political office. Teabaggers, Neo-cons, Dittoheads, Paulites, Freepers, Birthers, and right-wingers in general are not welcome here. Neither are certain extreme-fringe left-wingers, including advocates of violent political/social change, hard-line communists, terrorist-apologists, America-haters, kooks, crackpots, LaRouchies, and the like.

Obama is not worse than Bush, no. If that isn't obvious to you, this isn't really something I can help you with.
