we will look in retrospect.
People forget that money represents the value in things like natural resources, effort, and intelligence, but has no worth on its own. We are so focused on the financial balance sheet and driven by the logic of classical economics that we frequently choose courses of action that destroy physical and human capital. Pissing away too much of the "principal" of our natural resources "account" is the real debt we'll be unable to repay.
and one thing about reality, it doesn't go away when you close your eyes.
