http://www.democraticunderground.com/10022034753Speaking of Kef, I really miss the goodness and light that was DU's incomparable Roni, aka NewYawker99.
Where ever you are, my friend, you are SORELY missed and SO needed here now.

(28,158 posts)She always amazed me how she greeted everyone, posted the milestones and still had time for political discussion. She made the site a home to a lot of DUers she worked her magic on.

(26,877 posts)...actually, I think a tie would be appropriate.

(28,158 posts)Kephra taught me how to make a post in LBN, leading to a years long addiction to that forum. Roni made sure I felt at home here and showed me the Lounge. Heh, those were good days.
Yeah, they'd have to be a tie.

(42,290 posts)She was the first to welcome me within minutes of my first post. She had good radar for spotting newbies!
And the milestones... sometimes I forgot I was passing them until Roni posted it.
Where is she? I wish she'd just pop in and say hi.

(6,112 posts)I couldn't get over how friendly this place was. BTW, Canuck, you were not far behind her. We teamed up on a DUzy or two, as well.

(5,231 posts)When I joined DU1 way back, she was there saying Hi. I used to look forward to her commenting on my milestone posts, too. I don't post a lot so I often used to wonder how she managed it! She was a gem and made me feel so welcome.

(20,135 posts)and of course I couldn't believe it and very upset about it.
But someone else said that wasn't true.
Does anyone know for sure? I know she had not been well a few years ago the last time she posted.
Cooley Hurd
(26,877 posts)...that, if she did pass, I would hope for an unprecedented tribute thread.
At the time she left, it was hush-hush. I never inquired further.

I think it was in a "DUers you miss" thread.

(28,158 posts)I knew she had health problems, but that was years ago.

(20,135 posts)Roni was one of DU's finest posters...a wonderful, warm person.

(5,105 posts)and had positive thoughts upon seeing the names again. Unfortunately I can't keep up with all the comings and goings. And passings.
But, I am constantly impressed, enlightened and invigorated by many, many of the people here. This is my first stop for news every morning, just after rawstory.com.
