Gun Manufacturer Devastated Following Massacre

"the guns they make over there have also saved a lot of lives"

I'd like to see the numbers to back that statement up.

ILION, N.Y. -- The Remington Arms factory is at the center of this small village, straddled midway between Albany and Syracuse in the Mohawk Valley, towering over nearly every corner of the small downtown.

It may also be at the center of Friday's mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.

A Bushmaster .223 semi-automatic rifle was among the three powerful weapons crazed gunman Adam Lanza used in his bloody rampage.

And it was the Bushmaster -- a semi-automatic, military--style assault rifle - that Lanza fired to massacre 20 schoolchildren and six adult staffers.

Manufacture of the rifle was moved to Remington's Ilion factory in March 2011, providing a morbid link between this tight-knit town of just over 8,000 and the postcard-perfect New England community of Newtown.

I can't even finish that statement.

And if they're so fucking devastated, they can stop manufacturing their fucking guns. What did they think the guns were going to be used for anyway?

They're only devastated because the outrage over these killings may affect their bottom line. That's all they care about. They don't give a shit about the children, the families, the friends, the community. It's all about the money.

Fuck 'em.

Has there been any suggestion that the quality of his product is in doubt?

They created a product to kill.

Someone used it to kill.

The product was used as intended.

Devastated? Like HELL they are!

turns out, their perfect Round-Up makes people, animals and children sick.

We trash the silent killers, yet guns are always off the table.

and brag about how efficient their killing tools are.

I can see the new slogan now. "Remington: We kill people faster than the other guys."

Come on. How about a little truth in advertising for a change? They make those rifles for killing people, not for hunting.

breaking out the cigars and champagne. Every time something like this happens, gun sales go through the roof. Christmas came early for the gun manufacturers.

God damn them all. I hope He is keeping Hell hot for those greedy, murderous, feckless, sub-human bastards...

10. Statement by the mayor of the town that manufactures Bushmaster:

Dec 2012

"I have sadness, but to make a connection to us, the village of Ilion, and what happened Friday & I'm not sure it's there," said Mayor John Stephens.

In the past, Remington has stated that tighter gun controls, such as microstamping, might force the North Carolina-based company to relocate its plant to another state. Stephens has long since been an outspoken critic of microstamping and other forms of stricter gun-control.

"People that are going to use this as a platform for gun control are just wrong," he said, adding, "Remington belongs here. We'll do whatever we need to do to keep them here."
