What Michael Cohen has stated in the past regarding this case now being tried in NYC, has been consistent to the facts. What Michael Cohen testified to to Congress in 2019, wrote about in his book..BETRAYAL, gave depositions to, is public knowledge. There is nothing Trump can do about it. All he can do is whine as to how UNFAIRLY he is being treated.Former President Trump complained Friday that it was a joke and a disgrace after the judge overseeing his hush money trial directed prosecutors to inform Michael Cohen, their star witness, to stop speaking publicly about the case as his testimony approaches.
There is no gag order for Michael Cohen. What the judge did was amazing, actually. Everybody can say whatever they want, but Im not allowed to say anything about anybody. Its a disgrace, Trump said after court adjourned for the day.
Cohen is expected to testify Monday and has been billed as a key witness for the district attorneys office. He made the $130,000 hush money payment to adult film actor Stormy Daniels, who claimed she had an affair with Trump in 2006, which he denies. He also played a role in coordinating two other hush money deals that benefited Trump.

(52,783 posts)Not sure he's actually used the word "innocent", be has has claimed he did nothing illegal.
But "defendant claims innocence" is not really news, and it certainly isn't news every day, even if he whines in front of the media daily.

(4,533 posts)His ego will NEVER allow him to admit guilt. Just like Jesus (yes, he actually did make the comparison) he wants the cult to know, he's doing this for them.
I have heard him state many times, he is "allowing" THEM to come after him to protect the MAGAts.

For the Court is very aware of your M.O. and needs to put barriers up to protect ALL involved in making sure your 6th Amendment rights are upheld.

Cohen has been warned as a witness to not speak about the trial. One would assume if Cohen crosses that line, Cohen will also be reprimanded by the court.

(21,851 posts)look at Bannon. Convicted of a pretty simple crime. he didn't show up for a subpoena. Took a year and a half for the appeal to be processed.
drumpf will be convicted and out free for years on all these appeals. i honestly still believe he'll die of old age before he ever serves a day.
