There is no doubt but that the political left is resentful and obsessed with Trump, but the right is equally absorbed and enamored with him. They have all the appearances of a devout cult.
We must look at where we started and where we are today.
Nine years ago, they cheered as he came down the golden escalator. Today, they cheer as he leaves a courtroom, formally charged as a criminal defendant. You've come a long way, baby!
The left was shocked as he sat on his butt and did nothing as a mob attacked our nation's Capitol, as the right dismissed it as nothing more than a march that got out of hand. It did not matter to them that he chose the date and the time for it to happen.
The left is flabbergasted that he says he will be a dictator "on day one". The right shrugs it off as nothing more than Trump hyperbole.
The left finds it incredible that he would cozy up to dictators around the world, take billions of dollars from our adversaries, threaten to do away with NATO, publicly support Russia over Ukraine, and vows to put people into camps, if he is elected.
The right, cheered on by FOX Propaganda Network and right-wing media, blame it all on Joe Biden and the Democrats. They are led to believe that it is Barack Obama that is pulling the strings. Their once-hidden racism permits them to dismiss all charges against their Leader. They have vowed to vote for Donald Trump, even if he is in prison.
So, who suffers from "TDS"? We are all "victims" of the threats, the lies, and the lack of any rational policies from the right.
They believe that the attacks on Trump are coming directly from Joe Biden and the DOJ and Donald Trump has never done anything wrong or criminal in his life. Because he tells them.
The truth of the matter is that the entire nation is a "victim" of the Trump Derangement Syndrome and the only way to recover is to defeat them at the polls and put them back under the rocks from which they crawled. There is no surrender. They must be defeated.
America must awaken.

(65,647 posts)I've been saying for years that this "derangement" term has been co-opted because the unfettered obeisance to TFG is what is deranged.
The guy is not the business titan portrayed. The evidence is abundant & clear.
Same with the character flaws.
The ignoring of the obvious ti facilitate continued worship is truly deranged.

(61 posts)I used to troll right wing f.b. pages here in WI. after the tea party wave in 2010, Scott Walker had taken office and "dropped the bomb" on collective bargaining for most public employees. One of the most common insults they would throw at me was SWDS. You guessed it Scott Walker derangement syndrome.I just knew when T.S.F. took office, I would see Walkers awfulness on a federal level.

(31,253 posts)They never really analyze why. I say we have a perfect right to hate a guy who is a rapist, a racist, a cheat, a liar, and every other despicable and unAmerican thing you can say about a human being. He does it right in our face and flaunts it too. We have a right to hate that person. were not hating him because of his policies. Or even worse, they think, because we are protecting a worldwide pedophile ring of perverts that drink childrens blood. I wonder how many people really believe that one. Ive never really felt that kind of hatred toward anyone
