It sure seems so with their transparent efforts to find a way to declare super fascist Trump a kingly figure. In a nation founded on the fundamental principle of a nation of laws
, a nation where no man is above the law, they are promulgating a response to trumps immunity claim that would allow him, and his ilk, to rule as British Kings did prior to us giving them and their ideology the boot.
Im not sure how we, as a collective of Americans, stop this demonic behavior of what are supposedly intelligent jurists. But their convoluted machinations would embarrass Machiavelli. Creating the/a Prince in AmeriKa really would put a K in our nations name.

That being said, religious fervour has done its share to create monsters since time immemorial. Torquemada, anyone? The FBI even has a colloquial designation for religious-inspired cases they investigate: Holy sh*t. Or, as Steven Weinberg famously put it:
