Forty-five presidents managed to serve their terms without requiring immunity,

and then there was Trump.

We're all worried, wringing our hands as the Supreme Court decides if our presidents in the future will have the carte blanche reserved for a King. What privilege for Trump to be able to lobby this case in the lobby of the Supreme Court, with cameras rolling. The outlandish thing he said today: Presidents need immunity, or we won't have a country. The past 44 presidents and Biden managed, and are managing their jobs without requiring immunity, because they know the highest office in the country requires a person with integrity and honesty. Without it, the presidency loses public trust. Even Nixon knew this, which is why he stepped down because he realized he no longer qualified.

I’ve posted before but I’ll say it again..why is this even considered except for TSF. We have a constitution and laws and no king or queen with unlimited powers.

Trump is an unusual case, in that there’s no one to pardon him if he does not win ‘24. Maybe Biden can offer to pardon him if he and his spawn (all of them) agree to leave immediately.

What country would take him since he would be penniless. He isn't even going to be of value as an asset for Putin.

The fact that this even made it past the first hearing on it without just being laughed out of court is scary, having the supreme court accept to hear it is a huge arrow pointing to the end of democracy in the US. Our justice system is a joke anymore.

They are finally realizing the court is stacked in favor of the conservatives and have to report it that way.

that's saying something. But then, again, he died in office before the issue arose.

No one trusts that this Court will abide by past precedent, nor do they believe that they can't resist using their power to undermine the Constitution to achieve a right-wing wet dream.
