Change for 2nd hearing?

MT said that Trump complained about the hearing being held next Wednesday, because, you know, "campaigning"....So, J. Merchan changed the date to Thursday (May 2nd.) I suppose it doesn't matter. You can still spend overnight in jail, or be ordered to report next Wednesday. So, still holding out hope.

But, I am disappointed that the Judge bought this excuse. Also, whatever happened with the request by his attorney for two weeks off for surgery he allegedly scheduled for the 29th?

has a team of attorneys. I can't imagine Judge Merchan delaying the trial for a scheduled surgery for one defense lawyer. It isn't the lead attorney, after all, and apparently, his issue is nonemergent and known ahead of time so...

Officially, who knows?

I think it is reasonable to be able to count on being off on the one day a week (Wednesday) when the trial is not scheduled to be happening. Why he sants it off is irrelevant as far as I'm concerned.

is okay. It is more a thing about control of the Courtroom. So far, Trump seems to be winning. Trump's total failure to follow the Judge's orders is what got him to Wednesday in the first place. He doesn't deserve Wednesday off.
